I am supporting Mike Foreman for mayor of Friendswood. Mike and I worked together as NASA astronauts for nearly 15 years and our families both worship at Friendswood Methodist Church.

For the past two years, Mike has been an outstanding Friendswood city councilman for the same reasons he was an excellent astronaut. Mike is a logical, open-minded thinker, a consensus-builder and has a calm, “cool under pressure” demeanor.

On city council, Mike has worked on many difficult and controversial issues. One issue involved my own neighborhood. I had an opportunity to witness firsthand how Mike listens to the citizens of Friendswood and weighs all available information and points of view before making a decision.

Like most of us, Mike chose Friendswood as the ideal place to live and raise his family because our city is a strong, family-oriented community. Mike chooses to serve Friendswood to protect our heritage and to make our hometown an even better place to live. Just as Mike worked hard as a career U.S. Navy officer and astronaut, he will continue to make sound decisions and work hard for Friendswood as our mayor.

Please join me in voting for Mike Foreman.
